In recent times, different structures have sprung out from the common need of depicting the contemporary city, together with the necessity of offering special spaces to be devoted to the discussion about the future of the urban context. This includes questions of political rule and management too, concerning also the problem of the many actors involved in such a kind of framework.
In this double perspective – that is connected both to the past and to the future -, some new positive experiences come from the Anglo-Saxon world: from the Neighbourhood Houses in particular and from the Urban Centres which have been created in the last decade of the XXth century. Not only in Europe, but also in Italy, this kind of «museum» is now spreading around.
